My product is a unique film in its own right. My product represents social groups and issues by using extensive character and world building conventions such as costume, dialogue, acting, and location. In this case, my product is representing the upper class of society and the apathy and bigotry towards others one may develop with economic prosperity. Our main character is a wealthy man living on the coast of south Florida. The use of camera shots establishes the setting as a large modern house with luxury cars in the front  and a designer interior within. The use of costumes, a blue and white loose-fit floral shirt with white linen pants gives the appearance of a wealthy and laid back man who cares for the luxuries in life. On the other hand the antagonist is seen in a typical suit worn by office workers with a dirty rag over his shoulder and dirt smeared hands, clearly representing his lower economic status. The use of dialogue shows his apathy towards those he deems as u...

Production Blog #10 - Final Task

Hello and welcome to my last blog, after finishing and reviewing the editing with my peers on how the film should look we moved onto the next step. Being able to create a website and social media page. First I used Wix to develop a nice theme for my website, I included the poster as well as the credits and release dates, I want to make sure the website looks nice and polished. Next, I focused on social media platforms such as  YouTube and Instagram  to maximize our film’s reach. On  YouTube , I uploaded the trailer, behind-the-scenes footage, and short clips to generate interest. YouTube’s algorithm can help recommend our content to users who watch similar films, potentially reaching a broader audience. On Instagram, I posted promotional images, countdowns to the release, and even short clips from the film to create anticipation. I also utilized. Hashtags played an important role in increasing visibility. I researched and used  hashtags relevant to our genre a...

Production Blog #9 - Final Task

Hey! welcome back to my next blog, Last blog we went over the problem we had with editing however we managed to find a solution for this said problem. So now that we fixed the editing problem we are now going to finalize everything that is needed for editing. So I made sure I added the background music to fit each scene. Background music is essential to any film as if you have silly music behind an important scene it will not portray the emotions behind the scene properly. I added the music in every film. Next I fixed the sounds in the film, making sure the voice sounds were heard, because we wanted to make sure the dialogue was able to be heard. Our Problem at first was that the dialogue was too quiet, and now due to a bit of editing it was turned up and now sounds good. Next I made sure to have peers overlook the editing and give any comments. A lot of my peers were giving good reviews and appreciated the film. One thing they all said was a bit off was the tone, the tone was a ...

Production Bog #8 - Final Task

Hey guys welcome back to another one of these blogs in the blog previously we were discussing the editing portion of the video and a majority of the first part of the editing process was dumping the clips into the editing software and making sure that the clips are filmed well and what not. When I started editing the clips however and started cutting and editing the clips to help the flow of the film look better. Once I did all the cuts and tweaks for the film, I came up to a big problem. The film elapsed to WAY over 5 minutes and it was a huge problem for Lance and I as we wanted to show off a quality film but also be able to show it in the time span we had to came up with quick thinking.  We decided that we would keep in the house scene as it elapsed to just above 5 minutes and cut out the rest of the scenes as we still wanted to bring quality to our film.  Cutting out scenes was a difficult decision because each one contributed something unique to the storyline. Howe...

Production Blog #7 - Final Task

Hello and Welcome back to the production blogs. As we are nearing the end of the filming series we are now into a new chapter, editing. Editing plays a crucial role in filming because without editing. So first I overlooked all the clips we have filmed throughout the span of this filming process and checked to make sure they were alright to use and I started the editing process. I wanted to make sure that the clips flowed through in the order I had chosen for them. So I started with the House then moved on to the Interviewing area and finally the downtown part I had made sure to drag the clips and put them in the correct spots and When I first started editing I had alot of footage to go by and I just want to be able to have the 5 minute mark down. Now that I have dragged the clips I did some adjustments at first to be able to understand the scenes without having those cuts in place. Now that I have all the base stuff ready to begin editing, now we can move on to the next stu...

Production Blog #6 - Final Task

Hey! and welcome back to the last filming blog, last blog we perfected the scenes in the house and what not we also had to re film a lot of the scenes as the fight scenes and the intro, however a lot of that took time and we were able to master it. Next we were going to record the scenes in downtown and outside of the House. this required the use of props such as the police vest as well as a fake police car to make it realistic as possible. We want to sell that this is a police interviewing a witness. We had dialogue for this part and it was straight forward and easy to use throughout the film we were able to have the characters/actors portray what was going on and be able to convey the emotions for police scene. For the Downtown scene we had it done briskly and swiftly as the whole point of the scene is to portray it as a business call and make it professional as possible. Think about it: a real police interview has a certain weight to it, right? We spent time discussing how a r...
