Short film research: The Neighbors Window/Drama

 



a. Common Sound


The Music in this film is very subtle and emotional and adds to the plot of the film setting the mood, the ambience of the city noises and activities also add to the film as well and give a proper enviroment


b. Common Mise-en-Scene


Costume: The Characters are dressed in every day attire and clothing that reflects their personalities and status, like as the mothers clothing reflects her as a busy mother


Lighting: The natural lighting is used to create realism and the use of different times of days to be able to portray this to its fullest extent


Actors: The performances are very normal and relaxed trying to focus on subtle expressions to able to convey emotions and conflicts throughout the story.


Makeup: Minimal makeup is used to maintain authenticity, highlighting the characters' natural appearances and any signs of fatigue or stress.


Props: Everyday household items serve as props, grounding the story in a relatable domestic setting.


Setting: Intimate, familiar environments like homes or apartments are common, providing a backdrop that emphasizes personal and relational dynamics.

Smooth transitions and continuity editing maintain the narrative flow, with occasional use of cross-cutting to juxtapose different perspectives or parallel actions Limited use of visual effects, focusing instead on storytelling through performance, dialogue, and cinematography.
