Editing Blog: cropping footage
Hey Blog. Today I edited the footage me and Kevin have gathered for the gym, night walk, and house scenes. Much of the footage was over 45 seconds, way too long to keep intact. I did the majority of the video cropping in my photos app. I mainly had to cut the beginning and end of each clip. These were the parts where me and Kevin would get into position then eventually walk towards the camera to shut it off. Its funny referring to the phone as a camera. If anything its not the budget of the film its the imagination and skill of the cameraman. It took me about an hour to crop all of the footage into good clips that were short enough to fit nicely into the time restraints of the film. After all the base cropping I uploaded the footage to CapCut. That's where I will be doing majority of the editing. After putting together all of the clips I realized I had done the math wrong. So I had to edit each of their lengths again. It didn't take me too long but I wish I had done it right the first time. I realized the time constraints really were going to be an issue. I have this vision in my mind of what I want the film to look like but with less then 3 minutes to bring that vision to life. I have to get creative. After I finally got all of the clips it was easy to put them in order. I think I've done a good job forming the base of the film. Now all that's left is to overlay the filter and adjust the picture. That's all for today see you in the next one.
