Production Blog #3 - Final Task

 



Hey guys welcome back to the next production blog for my film! We have already discussed the locations we've scouted and why we chose to film where we did. We have also already discussed the props and their meaning. Now it is time to discuss the actors that will be in my film. Casting the right actors is obviously essential to any film, actors are the backbone of any film. That applies to our film, we wanted actors that would perfectly fit the roles we needed: a hit man. a business man, a cop, etc. We ran into some issues regarding our actors and their availability. Because of this we're going to have to work with only 3 or 4 actors instead of the originally planned 5. At first there was supposed to be: the Original businessman, the CFO, The hitman, and two police cops. This totals as 5 actors however due to some of the actors not being able to make it this led us to improvising. As Gabriel will be acting as the hitman and as a "cop" that's disguised and I will be acting as another "cop" and our friends Will have to act as the other roles in place of the other characters due to the time frame we have to fit in. We know it is a bit last minute, however we have to due what is necessary to be able to film. We chose the roles we did because we feel like the actors embody our vision for the film. We decided for Gabriel to comprise the role as the hitman since me and him came up with the character and his motives and thinking he can best embody him. The hitman is a major character in our film so he needs to be played as best as possible. I decided to act as a cop because to be honest I feel much more comfortable behind a camera than in a shot. The cop only comes in at the end so its perfect for me. I hope that going forward these actor changes will be able to contribute to the film and be able to enrich the scenes as they are made throughout the process of the film. The next topic to be discussed will be Starting the filming and doing background checks as we are going to begin the film process.

 Hey Blog. I've been working up ideas for my commercial and I actually started gathering some footage. I really love exercise and especially going to the gym and I figured that the best course was to gather new footage instead of using old ones simply because the quality would be much better and my strength and technique has changed drastically. Production Blog: Planning, gathering footage for the first few scenes

 Hey blog. This week I will start to gather footage for me and my teammates music video. This week I'm really going to focus on gathering footage for the first few scenes. The first scenes are split between the three of us. I need a sequence of me waking up early, preparing myself breakfast or a protein shake. I also need footage of me going for a morning jog. The overall plan isn't over complicated but the only issue is the time of day we want to shoot. We all agree that the dark of the night or early morning really fits the theme perfectly. In our video we are trying to translate the mindset of fitness and exercise. The mentality you need to be great. The music and the dark along with the message we're trying to convey. The mentality it takes has a certain intensity. It's almost as if there's a weight in your mind and you feel this drive to push yourself. Production Blog: Editing, visuals

 Hey blog. After gathering all the footage for our music video we have began the editing process. As stated before we are using CapCut to create and edit our music video. CapCut is honestly the best choice considering me and my teammates have very different schedules and life is unpredictable. It will allow us to edit our video in places we may not be able to bring a laptop. For the visual aspect of our video, we are aiming for a more dark and intense look. The lighting is a very important aspect. Warm lighting and cool lighting are very different. warm lighting gives a more intense atmosphere I believe. While cool lighting has a more relaxed but serious atmosphere. For our video we will be using a mixture of both to add contrast. We will most likely use warm lighting for the morning scenes both indoors and outside during the jog. This is because warm lighting is more associated with home and street lights.
