Filming Blog: Filming the house scenes

Image
Hey blog, yesterday I began gathering footage of the house scenes. This was a much less stressful day for me. Since we would be filming in the comfort of my own home I didn't need to worry about too many factors being outside of my control. I wanted to put more focus on the action scenes since those would be the hardest to film and would also take the most time and resources to prepare for. I wanted to make use of the dim warm lighting my house already has. I adjusted all of the lamps to be bright enough to see everything in the foreground clearly, while keeping the back and middle ground relatively obscure. I wanted to continue that feeling that something was wrong, even if the audience couldn't exactly tell why. I focused less on the montage footage. I was able to get really creative with the angles. I stood on chairs and got my phone is strange angles with this tripod my dad had lent me. I wanted to make the montage and atmosphere tense and off putting, even if what was ac...

Production Blog: Editing, visuals

Image
Hey blog. After gathering all the footage for our music video we have began the editing process. As stated before we are using CapCut to create and edit our music video. CapCut is honestly the best choice considering me and my teammates have very different schedules and life is unpredictable. It will allow us to edit our video in places we may not be able to bring a laptop. For the visual aspect of our video, we are aiming for a more dark and intense look. The lighting is a very important aspect. Warm lighting and cool lighting are very different. warm lighting gives a more intense atmosphere I believe. While cool lighting has a more relaxed but serious atmosphere. For our video we will be using a mixture of both to add contrast. We will most likely use warm lighting for the morning scenes both indoors and outside during the jog. This is because warm lighting is more associated with home and street lights. This will give the first few scenes their own unique feel. This will greatl...

Production Blog: Obscure

Hey blog. Me and my teammate Kevin went to the beach to gather extra footage for our music video. Our other teammate Julian wasn't able to join us until later due to schedule issues. Me and Kevin went to the beach t gather footage because as I stated before we ant to experiment with different concepts of our video. We did different activities that involve physical fitness. We jogged, swam, performed pull ups, volleyball, and push ups. We were also with a few other friends that we included in our video to show that fitness can exist outside of he gym. We also want to relay the message that fitness and exercise can be a fun and enjoyable activity. Even thought the mindset is personal and serious, you can still enjoy it with friends. Me and Kevin performed duo clap push ups, while Julian performed pull ups. There were many people at the beach and many of them came up to us to ask questions. many asked what we were filming for and it was fun explaining to them what the purpose of our ...
